T.V. and Me

I talk back to the t.v. Yes, I do. Occasionally I even yell at the t.v. "Don't go in there! It's a dark alley! Everybody knows you never go into a dark alley! Don't go into the dark places! Stay in the light! The light!"

Occasionally my hubby feels the need to say "You do know that they can't hear you, right? You do know that, don't you?"

Way to go, hubby. Way to burst my bubble. Yes, I do know that. However, I have to talk back to the people on t.v. I have to. They'd be helpless without me.

I have warned the people on t.v. about dark alleys and dark basements, and told doctors what the diagnosis is. I have helped parents make a decision and have laughed and cried with people. Yes, I know it's not real but I don't care.

I still have to yell at the t.v. It just makes me feel better. That way I prove that I'm "right."

And really, isn't that all that really matters?

  2. Back when I watched the Price is Right, I would get so mad at the people playing the games. I would always say, "If I were playing I would have won the top showcase." LOL. Easy to say from the comfort of my own home huh? LOL
    Hugs to you Nan!

  4. Jason yells at other drivers. And I mean YELLS. Problem is that THEY can't hear him... only we in the car with Jason can hear him. It drives me MAD! I'm like "You do know they don't hear a bit of this, only WE HAVE TO HEAR IT, right?"

Ugggh. Sorry - needed to rant.

You yell at the TV all you want, Nan! ((but they can't hear you either!))

  5. Nan,

You know we all know those things when they happen on TV yet what do we do when we hear things late at night? Right, we send our hubbies out to investigate and if we don't have hubby around, we go investigate. Why? Because you just need to know what that noise is and what is causing it. Crazy huh?

  6. I think you probably don't need to worry until you are convinced they're talking back to you. At that point, please let us know and we'll stage an intervention. Until then, maybe, just maybe, one of those stupid women will listen and NOT GO IN THE SCARY DARK PLACE by herself. I'm just saying...

  8. You mean you're not supposed to talk to the TV. Is there something odd about that? I thought everyone did that!

I also yell at the radio and at passing motorists, traffic lights, etc. I thought that was normal!! huh!

  11. Nan, I talk to the tv all the time. I tried to tell those people on Big Brother that so and so was lying to them. But, unfortunately, they didn't get the message. (Neither did that girl in the woods)

  14. Lol...maybe it's a guilt issue. Like, if we warn them then it's not our fault they get murdered in the dark alley. Cause we told them! They just didn't listen,or couldn't hear, or whatever. That's just semantics, right? :)
