You Know What I Can't Stand?

Well, since you clicked on this post I guess you really want to know what I can't stand.
So...

Here Goes...

*Clearing my throat*

I totally cannot stand it when I take a bit of something I really shouldn't be eating...
& it doesn't really taste that great...
& it really wasn't the thing I was craving...
& yet I still eat the whole thing...

& then I tell myself after it is totally gone...
That was so not worth the calories.

Why do I always finish it then?
I can't stand when I do that.

Is there anything silly you do that you just can't stand?
Come on...
Spill it...
Confession is good for the soul...
Well, I think that is what they say, anyways.
I'm off to eat another one of those not so fresh, totally not worth the calories donuts.

BTW...on my last grocery shopping trip, I spent most of my time in the laundry aisle sniffing all the soaps & fabric softners you all said you used. Snuggles with the blue lid is yummy!

Finding the Postitive....


My family is the definition of Sports MANIA!
I mean my personal blog title is Eyeglasses & Endzones for a reason!

Yes, I live in Minnesota.
 Yes, we stole Brett Favre.
Yes my family is devastated by the loss.
I don't just mean devistated as in a little moapy.....
 I mean heart torn out, cry yourself to sleep, 8 year old thought HE was going to the Super Bowl sad!

So, I am trying to find the positive in this situation and ironically, there is a TON of positivity surrounding the VIKINGS NOT being in the Super Bowl.
Most of that positivity surrounds MY BANK ACCOUNT!
 Take a peak at exactly what would have happened at my house IF they made it to the Super Bowl.



Tickets to this little event would have been available to us for the bargain price of $1300.00 each ticket and since my 8 year old would have physically DIED if he did not attend, we would have spent $2600.00 on 2 tickets in a not so great area JUST to watch this guy:


Savings $2600.00 (CHA CHING)

Next on the list would have been all the things associated with the VIKINGS winning the Super Bowl
 (yes, I know this is lofty)


$38.00 Saved because I totally would have made my son wear this to the game.
 $76.00 saved, I would made BOTH of them sport this awesome garb...
(Yes, I know the Superbowl is in Miami..this is FUNNIER because of that!)

Next - I can almost guarantee that my husband would have spent his life savings to errect this beauty somewhere on our property...TOTAL SAVINGS $33,814


In addition to the Mother Ship we would be paying a lawn service
 to maintain his little art project in the back yard....Again with the savings $650.00

Moving onto the smaller things in life, like my families request to make everything dinner related with this ingredient

Yeah - A years supply of VIKINGS BBQ Sauce....
$388.00 (what a bargain)!

Did you think that there would not be a redecorating request from the boys?
Well, I am sure there would be:

And I am sure that my husband would want to get me some GORGEOUS jewlery to commemorate the occassion, so of course I would be surprised and delighted when I opened these beauties up:

Are You Sure You Really Want to Know This?

I wish someone would explain to me how my house can go from clean to disaster in two seconds fast. Seriously, how does that happen?

It's not like I have little kids wandering around. In fact, when the kids were little my house was neater than it is now. It was almost always immaculate back then, even when I had a four year old and a newborn, and even when they were ages two and six.

The main reason why it was so clean when they were little? The kids and I did three toy pickups a day: before lunch, before dinner, and before bed.

Hubby and I and the kids (when they were old enough to participate) also did a whole house pickup at 7:00 p.m. in which we all ran around for 15 minutes, picking up and straightening up as needed. Each night when I went to bed everything was back in it's place and ready for the morning. Now that's what I'm talking about! Aaaaaahhhhhhh! Peace and orderliness.

That was then and this is now. No more pickups three times a day and no more whole house 7:00 p.m. pick up. Sigh. Hmmmm, wonder if I should start that again? Who's with me?

The sad thing is that pretty much most of the things that are left out are mine.......sigh......Are you sure you really want to know this?

I have laundry that still needs to be folded. Why won't laundry mind its own business?

I have magazines that my mom gave me to read that are sitting on the floor, awaiting my response. Yeah, like I need to sit and read a stack of magazines and ignore everything else.

I have some stuff I bought at Goodwill that I need to find a place for. Just trying to help out the local economy, people.

I have some candles that my hubby bought me for Christmas that are still waiting for their permanent home.

I have a pair of snow boots that I bought at Goodwill (love them!) and are waiting for me to put them away and toss the worn out ones. Because we always get months and months of snow here.....not!

I have a couple of library books that need to be put back in the library box. For some reason I can't resist getting a stack of library books, even if I can't possibly read them all. Hope springs eternal and so do library books.

I have some coupons that I clipped that are still waiting for a miracle (i.e., the miracle would be that I clip them and actually use them).

I have some papers that need to be sorted through and filed or tossed. Papers are sneaky, sneaky little critters and they will multiply.

I have some stuff that a friend borrowed from a neighbor and I need to return them to the neighbor....five boxes!

I have a few Christmas decorations that don't fit the space we've allowed for them, so now I have to find room for them somewhere else.

My crockpot is sitting out because I am to lazy to put it away. After all, suppose I decided to use it again in a day or two (*rolls eyes*).

I could go on and on, but frankly, I'm exhausted.......

Now you know, I am a sad, pitiful little mass of messy humanity lately. However, there is a bright side, and as soon as I figure out what it is I'll let you know.

Going on a Blog Jog

Today I thought I'd do a little exercising. It doesn't involve going to the gym or doing any crunches. The exercise I'm doing today doesn't even involve any sweating. Why, you ask? Well, because I'm going on a blog jog and the only trainer I'm gonna need today is YOU. That's right! Today I'm exercising my mind and soul. After having to make cuts Google decided to purchase 200 tickets to
the movie  AVATAR as a parting gift for its workers in China....
Hmmmm...Good thing they just opened up that theme park!!!

Last but not least I could not leave the US out!
While vacationing in Hawaii with his family, the President and his family enjoyed

*Cough* *Hack* *Wheeze* *Aaaachooo!*

I have been sick and haven't been blogging or commenting much lately. But today I want to talk about something that is very near and dear to all of our hearts.

Cough syrup.

Will someone please tell me why we can put a man on the moon but we can't make a cough syrup that tastes good?

I mean, come on. Seriously. Really? Ugh.

Does it really have to taste bad in order for us to believe it's working? I am willing to believe that it can taste good and still work.

Man, think of the market. You could have cough syrup in all sorts of yummy flavors. I am certainly old enough to keep the medicine out of the reach of children, so what're they waiting for?

There is no cure for the common cold, we know that. So let's take advantage of it. Let's make some snazzy cough syrup and everyone will want to buy it.

They could even make them in designer covers and then people with colds could carry them around with them and show them off.

I know why they do this. They don't want people buying it and using it unless they have a cold, right? So I, for one, am willing to have stringent policies in place in order to buy a great tasting cough medicine.

I am willing to go to the pharmacy and cough and sneeze and hack all over the person, just for the purpose of buying a yummy tasting cough syrup. Who's with me?

American Idol Addiction...


A guilty pleasure? Perhaps. A ratings monster? For sure. 
Something that a lot of us watch? Maybe.
Here are a couple things that I would change about American Idol if I were a judge:




1. Cut the poopy auditions....I mean do I honestly need to see a bunch of kids and ADULTS who can't sing try to push a 1 hour show into 2 hours? Lets get to the meaty part of the show...not this appitizer stuff!

2. No guest judges. Not that I don't like an occasional judge but I want ELLEN.
She is awesome so just put her on already!

3. A voice box for Simon. Something with funnier voices like
Bart Simpson, Adam Sandler and Conan O'Brian options. Spice it up a little BRIT! ;)


Alright, now I know I don't have the authority to change ANYTHING
but a girl can dream can't she????

Slacker Goes Slack-a-lackin'

Dearly Beloved Bl0oggers,

Well, it's a new year and I'm already feeling sluggish. With the help of my tenacious 3yr old, I've conveniently avoided the gym for MONTHS now. I've been so behind on my blogging that I'm just now finding out about 17 new followers here. WOOO HOOO!!! {{{{ HEY Y'ALL }}}} I've also managed to neglect not only my personal little blog, but also the header giveaway I was supposed to have in December. (how embarrassing) Believe me. It was not intentional. Oh and that's not all folks. My behind list doesn't end there. I'm 2 months behind sending out a prize giveaway for my bloggy friend, Cathy. (now THAT is embarrassing!!) {{{SORRY CATHY!!}}}

Anyway, today is a new day in a new year. And although I am feeling a little a LOT sluggish, I'm NOT gonna let my feet draggggg any longer! Nope! I'm taking a stand and putting my sluggish feet down.

Thankfully, I'm HAPPY and PROUD to say that my usually tenacious little sidekick was very out of character today and I managed to plant my feet down on a gym floor for a little Zumba. (Ahhhh, there IS a light at the end after all.....) I'm also happy to report that my friend Cathy should be receiving her little package in a day or two. Oh and I'm here blogging so that's a plus, right?! (probably more for me than for you.)
What else???? I know I'm missing something...... That's right, my header giveaways. Since I didn't choose a winner in December, I thought I would choose two in January. Man- I am one busy lady thanks to my hubs new Apple Itouch.
This little machine is totally eating up all my spare time.

Yep, I Made 'Em

I don't know why I do it...

I most likely won't stick to 'em...

So why make 'em?

Yet I did.

Yep, I made some...well two... New Year's Resolutions.
Some years I don't bother, but when I don't bother... I don't bother.
So this year, I made a couple and figured even if I don't make it all year, or half the year, or even a month, at least I will bother to try.

Right?

First, I've resolved to 'tone up' this year. Focusing primarily on my abs, I'm committing to "crunches", "bicycles", "full body crunches", "side crunches", and "leg lifts". Just getting started is the hardest part for me. But I did it... on the 1st, I did 300. On the 2nd, I was hurting... but again I did 300. And on the 3rd, I did 300. I've begun. It's a start.
My most important New Year's Resolution is a great one -that I honestly do INTEND to keep. My church gave away free ONE YEAR Bibles. Although they were free, they were not without an obligation. We had to sign a commitment card saying that we take seriously the commitment to read It daily and to hold each other (in our family and in our church family) accountable. My pastor said it best, "If you won't commit to do it, you'll never do it. But if you do commit to do it, you might succeed."


Therefore, following Cameron's initial lead, and grabbing hold of Riley's enthusiasm, we are committing to read our Bible's daily. Hopefully by next year... on the first Monday of 2011, I will be able to say that thanks to a tiny yellow commitment card and our church family who held us accountable, we succeeded and read through the entire Bible together as a family this year.
