For All UN-intended Purposes

Dearly Beloved Bloggers,

You know, there are times when finding more than one use for something is great. There are also times when it's NOT so great.

FOR EXAMPLE......
What purpose do you think of when you see this?

Your right! That's exactly what I was thinking. It's sole purpose is to supply a place to hang your towel on.

But..... in the eyes of a husband, it's seen as a perfect belt rack (even though we DO have a rack specifically for belts in our closet.)

On the other hand, in the eyes of a SUPERHERO, it's the perfect place to hang your cape, readily available for the next emergency rescue. I can't blame him. Time is of the essence!

How about this? What do you think it's purpose is?

Right again! It was made for lighting up a room with just a hint of a glow.

But.....to others it's a perfect place to hang your hat or should I say HATS (even though we DO have a hat rack in our closet. It's right next to the useless belt rack,in case someone in particular was wondering.)

Now for a tricky one. What do you think the purpose of this is?

Boy you're good! I like how you think! It's a decorative piece of carpet that adds a little bit of softness to an area.

But did you know that it also is a life saver? Yep after tripping, time after time, over shoes and socks and everything and anything under the sun, it's provides me with a soft landing.

Even though there is a place for everything, sometimes everything isn't in it place.

Yours (TRULY),
Miti

PS: I'd like to thank my awesome husband and SUPERHERO for today's inspiration. I surely couldn't have done it without y'all. And I'd like to also thank all of my Dearly Beloved Bloggers for sticking around on Thursdays. I really do look forward to all of your comments. I know my comments to you all have been very few lately, but please know that I really, TRULY do miss visiting with y'all and as soon as the dust has settled here, I'll be on my way to all your blogs (and tags too). Hope y'all are having a wonderful, magnificent, TRULY amazing summer! Love you all. God bless.

  1. haha there are so many things like that in my apt too!! Like the floor right beside the bed is the best place for belts. The area to the left of the couch great for fishing pools and coolers and the computer desk great of piling up anything and everything, and my coffee table is a nice place for tools! UGH! I am constantly picking up and moving those things!

  5. just think if you can find more than one purpose for an item then I guess it means you get to go buy more of that item so it can be utilized for the other purposes

  6. That's an oranized mess compared to what I've got going on at home. My son's train table (that won't fit till he moves into his big boy room...which we haven't started yet) is the catch all for everything in our breezeway. You'd never know that trains are supposed to be happily hgoing round and round under the heap of stuff stacked on it!

  10. Isn't it amazing how objects can be reinvented? Who knew? I think our bedroom dresser has been permanently designated as a laundry staging area, lol!

  11. I'm glad to know my house isn't the only one that is "cluttered". Goodness, it seems my dressers and desks are just pile holders. The drawers are busting at the seams, so the stuff just winds up on top and in piles....in a mess.

Somebody stop me! I'm getting depressed just thinking about it all!!! =0)

  12. You used your inspiration with great talent. Good job! We all feel better now knowing others have the same issues in our homes too. :)

  13. So great! I love that hubs gave you the inspiration for that one! It was really good! And yes, a towel rack has sooo many purposes that unless I have a towel on it, I have removed them from the walls!!! ;)

  14. I completely understand! My children like to try and hang from the towel racks! And I'm guilty myself of hanging my bras there!

  17. Ha! Looks like my house. And one of my little's once used the towel bar for another purpose-to hang on as she tried to scale the wall! Needless to say, she weighed more than a towel and it didn't hold her!! No one was hurt but the towel bar. :)

  18. I love that my laundry basket is there for dirty laundry and the laundry always seems to be just outside the basket on the floor...like it spits it out when you throw it in. So fun. Great post Miti...you have 2 wonderful helpers over there:)

  19. My three guys have Any Flat Surface Syndrome. They don't put anything where it belongs! It all just ends up on the floor, the snack bar, the counter, the living room table, their bed, the washer/dryer...any flat surface! Auuuuurrrrgh!!!!

This is a great post! Thanks for letting me vent, too! Whew...I feel better now. LOL

  21. : ) Those boys of yours are BRILLIANT to see double purposes for everything, right? We just had a freak out at our house the other night because our cape was missing. Searched everywhere. And finally found it. What is a super hero without a cape? Nothing : )

  22. LOL! Glad to know I"m not the only one. I have a candle tray in our bedroom and it also serves as my husband's loose change collector. Who would have thought? LOL!
