Isn't It Ironic?

Are you singing that 1996 hit song from Alanis Morissette, yet? If not, you will be by the end of this post. I promise.

Parts of the song are in Bold! So sing along...you know you want to!

Isn't it Ironic, don't you think?
I have 10 toes & the 1 toe that has the ingrown nail is always the toe that everyone steps on? Ironic? Naaa, just super painful...yea yea

When you think everything's okay and everything's going right...
Your child gets a call for a TV commercial audition & the same night splits her forehead open...A little too Ironic? Don't you think? Yeah I really do think.

Life has a funny way of sneaking up on you...
Like when you sit down to use the potty in peace & the phone always rings...A funny, funny way of helping us out. Yea right, it's real funny trying to race for the phone half dressed!

It's like rain on your Weddin' Day...yea I wish! It was the hottest day of the summer in August 1997, both the air conditioner in the church & the reception hall broke down that day...We sure would have welcomed some Rain on my Weddin' Day! Right Tarah?
A little too Ironic...
But yet every time I wash my van it rains the next day...seriously, if we are ever in a drought, I will just wash my van. You're Welcome Michigan...And who would have thought? It figures...

It's a free ride when you've already paid...or buying something you want for full price & the next day getting a coupon in the mail. Life has a funny way of helping you out.

It's the good advice, that you just didn't take...
Anything ironic in your life?

Take my good advice...please...go visit Carrie over at Martin Manor & tell her Mimi sent you. You will love her blog!
Don't you think?

  1. Aww, Mimi...what a wonderful surprise at the end! LOL! At our house, it's been ironic that we've had beautiful sunny weather when we are running errands and activities around town...then invite some friends over to swim the next day...and it's cold and rainy...sigh! Or someone stops by when the house is in complete disarray...and when it's all cleaned up...no one...not one person comes over...but the next day after the kids have attacked...'ding dong'! ha ha! It is so ironic!!!

  3. How funny! I have a serious habit of running my car through the car wash, paying $8 to have it cleaned and shined and the next pour down rain.

  4. Okay Mimi! Now I will be singing that song all day! At least it's a pretty good song...

Ironically at my house, every time I mop the floor some kid drops something really messy!

  5. Okay so at my house, everytime I finally get the laundry caught up {or close enough} somebody is going to poop, vomit, or spill something all over their clothes!!

  8. Isn't it Ironic that they call you a Stay at Home Mom, but thanks to grocery stores, doctor's visits, school functions, birthday parties, the last minute shopping for birthday parties, oh and trying to fit in a pedicure with a good friend, YOU'RE NEVER HOME...

  10. Isn't it ironic when you have 100s of channels to watch but there's nothing worth watchin'? Thank goodness for Sirius Radio. At least I have somethin' to dance to. Today grooving to the 90's. Alanis, where you at?

I like the part that says, "It's like meeting the man of my dreams and then meeting his BEAUTIFUL wife." OUCH!!! That's gotta hurt.

    Great post Mimi!

  12. Yep, I'm so singing that song. NOT an Alanis fan, but know the song all too well. ((she's too whiney for me!)) =0)

    So anyway, I think its so ironic that invisible people get my house dirty. They have to be invisible cuz even with my kids right there, it happens, nobody sees it happen, but it happens. I find the mess, "Who did this?" and nobody in the house did. It's that invisible person AGAIN! {{ugggh}}

  16. When I start a load laundry, then walk in and find some clothes that should be in the washing machine with the clothes currently washing because my husband and son didn't bring it to the laundry basket. It ALWAYS happens!

  21. Not singing the song because I've never heard it, but loved your post! It's ironic that we don't get any invitations anywhere, and then suddenly we get three on the same day.

Or that people come by when the house is messy and stay away when it's clean! Or that I always need a bathroom desperately when there is none to be found!

  25. So true - I can't name how many times it rains after washing the car or getting a coupon the day after we go pay full price for something. LOL!

  26. Life is so full of irony. Hey, it's more interesting that way;)

  27. Hi Mimi - thanks for stopping by at my blog!
I LOVE the bran muffin mix and there's one called 'Muffins Muffins' and that's great too - it has sugar in it - but if you're not sensitive - it'll work for you.
    ;)

  28. And isn't it ironic that no one is anywhere to be found and the minute I paint my nails there are 7 catastrophes?
