Pumpkin Prayer!

I am always amazed at how the Lord can teach us spiritual lessons in our everyday life with the most simple things. I think about this analogy while carving my pumpkins each fall.

Dear God,

Open my mind so I can learn about You;
(Cut the top of the pumpkin)

Take away all my sin and forgive me for the
wrong things I do; (Clean out the inside)

Open my eyes so Your Love I will see;
(Cut eyes)

Open my ears so Your Word I will hear;
(Cut ears)

Open my mouth so I can tell others about You;
(Cut mouth)

Let Your Light shine in all I say and do! Amen.
(Place a candle and light)

  1. This is such a good reminder for us adults but easy enough to teach children.

  2. what a wonderful way to bring prayer into a simple October task

    Blessings, andrea

  8. That is just awesome! It even kind of goes with what I have been posting the last couple of days. "Help us to know you Lord and shine your glory to the world!"

  9. Awesome! I used something similar to that in a Sunday School lesson a few years back.

  10. Wow!! Christy Rose said my FF was opposite of this and boy o boy was she right!!! This is awesome MIMI....

    May we be living examples of these words today and every day!

  11. Oh, awesome!!! Mimi, I'm gonna use this at our Youth Social that we're having this Saturday evening. We're doing Pumpkin Carvings! How perfect. You didn't even know how God was going to use you when you posted this, did ya?
