Who Knew?

After working very hard at doing nothing yesterday, I discovered a few things.

For one thing, I discovered that if I am quiet enough, I can actually hear my hair growing. O.k., not really, but I did discover that my hair definitely looks better when it's washed. Perky hair is not perky when it's not been washed. When it's unwashed it just looks like....well, unwashed hair.

I also discovered that clothes in the washer do not automatically transfer themselves to the dryer. You actually have to stop and do it yourself. Who knew?

I also discovered that it's easier to transfer clothes from the washer to the dryer if you actually empty the dryer first.

I discovered that we have nothing "good" in the house when I am in a hormonal flux and desperate for something amazing to snack on.

I also discovered, much to my chagrin, that stale fritos taste just as good as fresh ones when one is desperate for something crunchy.

I discovered that I don't clean as well wearing sweat pants as I do when I'm wearing jeans. Apparently it's a lack of motivation or energy thing. I wonder if my slippers had anything to do with it?????

I discovered that when it's raining heavily outside, you probably should not slip a pair of Crocs on your feet when you go out to get the mail. Boots or perhaps a boat would be better.

I discovered that ducking to avoid the rain is not really effective, unless you enjoy getting drops of water down the neck.

I discovered that our gutters need cleaning. Don't ask me how I know that.

I discovered that "rainy days and Mondays" don't always get me down, but they sure might put a damper on my motivation.

I discovered that suddenly I care very much about why there aren't any songs about "rainy days and Tuesdays....."

I discovered that today is another day and hopefully I'll get lots accomplished!

I also discovered that I like to say "Who knew?" alot. Who knew?

  2. This is why I just love you to pieces - you crack me up every time!! I've been trying to train my clothes for years to move themselves to the dryer but they're so dumb - they don't get it. Have a great rainy Tuesday ~ ♥

  3. Laundry! Don't you wish it would just clean and fold itself sometimes! There is never anything 'good' in our house either when I have a craving for a snack!

  4. Yea, Nan --- you're right. Ducking from the rain only seems to get more of your back wet. =0) This is only good if you happen to be wearing a white t-shirt. Better the back than the front!

  5. Nan...last year, I wore my crocs in the snow....not the most brilliant thing I have ever done.....what was I thinking? Obviously, nothing was bouncing around in my head that day.

Hope you have a wonderfully blessed Tuesday.

This is a great post because once again, we can all realize just what these moments are like. So true are the words that you capture!

  8. I always read that you should only wash your hair once or twice a week and I just cannot do it! My hair only looks good nice and squeaky clean!

  11. Very cute! Maybe my problem with a lack of motivation to clean is directly related to the fact that I'm wearing my comfy clothes....hmmmm

  12. It's no secret! I KNEW I'd come over here and get a good laugh! There's been PLENTY of times when I've found my clothes stuck like glue in my washer smelling all funky. I HATE WHEN THAT HAPPENS!!!! I just discovered something.... My dryer gladly tells me when my clothes is all finished and fluffy. ((((( AAAAAAAA!!! ))))) See there it goes. BUT my washer, well that's another story. Wouldn't it make more sense if it started yelling at me when it's done doing it's thing?!!! It's that too much to ask? Maybe I'm just being wishy washing about the whole thing. ( Sneaker, Sneaker. Sorry, I couldn't resist. )
