ON COMMON GROUND

Dearly Beloved Bloggers,

Welcome to day 4 here on Five Moms and a Blog. I've been picking my brain trying to think of something remotely interesting to write about. The pressure was eating a way at me so much that all I could think about was the other Moms giving me the BIG, BLACK, POINTY boot right off the bat. I mean really, how am I gonna top those word verifications? Then, all the sudden it hit me right smack in the face. No, you silly willies, it wasn't the boot; it was the answer staring right back at me. Granted, it's no where as good as Tarah's funny words but it will have to do for now. My question to you is..........

WHAT'S SOMETHING THAT WE ALL LOVE AND CAN RELATE TO?

Blogging, of course. So.......

WHAT IS A BLOG?

Well, I'm not gonna state the obvious, but what I am gonna say is that this whole blogging thing has turned out to be more than what I expected. Like many of you, I started blogging so that I could write about my life as a stay-at-home mom. And, that's mostly what Pieces of Me is all about. But, as my posts grew, so did my followers. With no pens in hand, my Penless Pen Pals have become a virtual support group of some sort, always here to hear me out. God Bless Y'all!!

One day while sharing Pieces of Me with some real-life friends, one made a comment, "Only Miti has the time to do this." Well, let me tell ya, it's not like I wake-up, put a plate in front of my little guy and BAM I'm done for the day. There's always a bath to be given, a mouth to be fed (literally), potty training to be trained, and manners to be taught. OH....And don't forget about the tons of housework that mysteriously accumulates. You'd think there was a kindergarten class living with us.

So, what it all boils down to is NO, I don't have the time to blog, but I make the time for it.

WHY?

Simply because I spend most of my day with a three year old who, at times, doesn't seem to get me and I need to have some sort of contact with those who do (that would be y'all).

Y'ALL GET ME, RIGHT?

Helloooooo....................................................

Y'ALL STILL WITH ME?
O.K. Good! Shew...I was beginning to think I was talking to myself again.
Anywho....just as these 4 Moms have welcomed me with open arms, so has the WWB (wonderful world of blogland). After it's all said and done, blogging is the best and cheapest form of therapy out there. And I NEED therapy!!

WOULDN'T Y'ALL AGREE?

So, thanks y'all for hearing me out. I hope you've enjoyed my little rant cause you'll be hearing a lot more of me. I'll be here every single Thursday. You can't get rid of me that easily.

OR CAN YOU? : |

  10. Definitely in agreement about not really having the time to blog with all of my other duties in raising 5 kids. whew! But, I have found that God ministers to me or uses me daily, no every minute, I am in blogland for growing His kingdom and purposes in the hearts of His peoplee, especially mine! I just started this venture in my life a few weeks ago and I love it.

You did great in your debut!

This idea of community blogging is great!

  17. You said it best! I have had people say the same thing to me..."HOW DO YOU HAVE TIME TO BLOG?" They just don't understand all blogging has to offer. Great post and I'll be looking forward to next Thursday.

  18. MITI!!! I can not believe your post for today. I have been sitting here for the last hour writing a post for tomorrow, about how and why I became a blogger.

I was getting ready to shut down and get the baby from her nap and I clicked on my dashboard to see what is going on in blogland today.

What do I read but your post. Do we have ESP? (No, I do not believe in ESP but it is odd, don't you think?)

Alas, yours is finished and I need to get my baby up...so perhaps tomorrow or the next day you can click right over and check it out...if I get time to finish.

Thanks, for ranting and making the rest of us feel a little more like the norm. :)

  19. Thanks for sharing. I blog for the same reason. I have been homeschooling for 9 years now & I get a little crazy some days. I find writing helps. I don't seem to have many folks reading my stuff.Just a few close friends (bless them). I've got to figure out how this blog thing works so I can get more readers. I like the interaction. 25. I definitely agree with you!! Blogging is great therapy! And, I definitely have to make time for it. (I need to be better about it.) I have meet some wonderful women online who have been a great blessing to me! Blogging is such a terrific medium in which to connect with others. I can't wait to read more about you!

  26. I'm with you on the the therapy thing. It's amazing to meet so many great people in one small space... right at my computer.

I think it would have been great to ask your commenters why or how they started blogging at the end of this particular post. Of course, you would get "short novels" as answers most likely. Still a cool idea though.
